Entrusted with a new year

Time passes swiftly and here we are at the start of another year.

Entrusted to us.

Is that not a thought to engage the mind? To focus the heart? To be a searching of our daily life?

There is nothing anyone of us singly can do about the abominations and atrocities that are a constant in this world.

What each can do is to ensure that those near to us, those we know about, are tended and nurtured.

The old chorus, "You in your small corner and I in mine.."

Not from anything but the love of the Lord Jesus and the seeking to "obey His commandments" as He bids us.

Not for worldly fame or acclaim...so easy to fall into that trap. Simply to live for Jesus thoughtfuly and softly.

Not proseletysing.. knowing that it is how we live that will draw others to Him, in quietude.

Always setting time aside for that quiet listening, that guidance from Him. Not following slavishly any save Him.

And that will mean growth; and growth means change. Which many hate; a rut can be soooo comfortable..... But unless we constantly are alert and watchful? Remember how many Bible verses echo and teach that.

For us, that means always aware of the needs of the world around us, where we are and where our Sisters work.

So we evaluate how we send our time, and having now seen the needs and the overall siutation?

So less and less time now for the internet... and it grows ever more demanding and cluttered and noisy.

The thought that Facebook acts like a virus... We tried it and immediately 30 names arrived as "friends": some we had had one email contact with many years ago.. some were clearly contacts of contacts..

Friends? I don't think so. There is no relationship. no accountability. No involvement. no real identity. "Social networking"? Not. And a great invasion of privacy.

Many think that unless they are busy, involved etc etc, they are not ??? But these things are addictive also.. Try leaving off for a few days and see how much you miss it all; and find other pastimes that help others?

So we binned it... Fast..... And have cut way down on internet time.. freeing time and energy for so many worthier things,, like our work for the needy.

So we will not be posting here much it at all this year..

Our xanga is still up and always we need money for our babies.. and always here on email..anchoresscj at yahoo dot com
